Why Curvy Girls Need to Stop Being Bullies

Throughout the years, thinspiration has taken over.
Women and girls obsess over acquiring the perfect thigh gap. Plenty of women aspire to look like the cover of Vogue.
Just recently, I’ve been noticing women with curves fight back. Unfortunately, the keyword is "fight." For the record, it’s got to stop. I, myself, happen to be a curvy, young female who has been overpowered by thinspiration at times, but I know dissing skinny women will not solve my problems.
Why are we attacking each other when the real problem is the media and Hollywood marketing the “thin is in” motif?
I started realizing curvy girl backlash when I heard certain songs. For example, Meghan Trainor’s All About that Bass says: “I'm bringing booty back. Go ahead and tell them skinny bitches hey...”
Let’s not forget Nicki Minaj’s Anaconda is ever so blunt:
“I said, where my fat ass big bitches in the club? F?!# the skinny bitches"
While female artists sing spiteful words, they appear to have an aura that portrays the confident, voluptuous woman. My question is: if they are truly as confident as they appear, then why the need to pick on skinny girls? Since happiness is portrayed with having “something to grab,” why the need for cruel words against slender females?
Personally, I do enjoy having curves, and I wouldn’t trade them. However, just like every woman, I have days where I think I’d be happier with losing a couple of pounds. It’s natural and it’s normal. We are constantly surrounded by lies of the media. Women should be aware that a large percentage of every magazine photo is intensely photoshopped. What if we viewed Vogue as an inspiration for a new wardrobe, not thinspiration for a new body?
People come in all different shapes and sizes. Don’t set unrealistic goals for yourself that will end up in self-pity or spite. Instead, acknowledge what you like about yourself and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Most of all, don’t tear others down. You’re better than that.
Psalms 139:13-14:
“For You formed my inward parts; You wove men in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.”
