Work Hard Play Hard

Upon receiving my first official "big girl" job this year, I quickly realized that I owned zero "work" clothes. I frantically went to the nearest outlet mall to spend my Christmas money (which I waited all year for), only to be disappointed with the selection of knee-length skirts, high-water flared dress pants and boxy-cut blouses.
Another issue I faced was thinking that I would ONLY wear these clothes to the office. "I would never wear this out in public," was the thought in my head as I stared at myself in the heinous, fluorescent dressing room light.
What I would soon learn was that "work attire" does not have to be boring or monotonous. In fact, work clothes can be fun and versatile, making you excited to get dressed in the morning (even if it's 7 a.m.)
I chose to wear a black blazer over this dress with a bold, yet office-appropriate necklace. When it came time to meet friends for dinner, I exchanged the blazer for a leather jacket, added a pair of stilettos and a pop of red lipstick.
Don't feel the need to bring an extra change of clothes to the office. Play with accessories, shoes, jackets or any items in your closet that make you feel confident at the office AND going out after work.
(Old Navy dress, Forever 21 blazer, Baublebar necklace, Michael Kors watch, Rack Room red heels, Target leather jacket, Mac lipstick, Target black heels)
