3 Ways To Wear Your LBD

LBD (noun): little black dress. Or, as I like to call it, a little "basic" dress.

Now, not all little black dresses are "Plain Jane," but, as you can see from the first image, mine is quite simple.

While a LBD is a classic, essential piece in most wardrobes, many of us are challenged with how to style the dress to make it appropriate for any occasion. I've shared three different looks for some not-so-basic ways to transition your little black dress.

1. Work

Printed or colored blazers are an easy fix to make your dress interesting. Want to sparkle in the office? Tie in your favorite statement necklace, and your LBD is suddenly an office hit!

2. Formal

You don't have to spend extra money on a formal dress that you may only wear one night. Take your LBD and try some elegant printed tights, a high-heeled shoe or a dazzling red lip color. No one will have a clue that your dress came from Target. (Yep, mine did.)

3. Sunday Brunch

Whether it is Sunday brunch or any activity with your girlfriends, try a look you may not typically go for with your LBD. Hot pink lips? A striped turtleneck underneath? Play with items already in your closet to make your dress cute and playful.

These are only a few ideas, so go exploring in your wardrobe! Don't own a LBD? No problem. These tips can be styled with any solid color dress. Happy styling!
