Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday of the year. Not only do I get to stuff my face without being judged, I'm able to spend time with family members that I only see once a year. Personally, this will be my first Thanksgiving as a post-graduate, so I'm banking on getting a seat at the adult table rather than the "kid's table" this year.

When deciding upon my outfit of choice for next week's holiday, I knew I wanted to be confident in my look. Considering I am now an adult (according to society at least), I want to appear professional and, to be honest, like I've had a successful year conquering the beaten path that post-grad life has thrown at me. But let's be honest, we all want to dress comfortably so we don't feel on the verge of death immediately after indulging in our meal.

Well, this year I've chosen to wear peplum. Peplum flatters all body types, extending from the waist to the hips, and doesn't make your stomach feel like it's going to burst post-indulgence. The first look I've chosen is for those of us who enjoy our Thanksgiving meal at lunch time, rather than dinner. It's a slightly relaxed look, but the red pant makes me feel confident and put together, rather than slipping on a pair of jeans.

The second Thanksgiving look is for those of us who dine in the evening, rather than during the day. I chose a more formal look for the holiday dinner, transitioning my peplum top with a sparkle skirt and tights; however, it would also pair nicely with a skinny dress pant.

Not all families prefer to "dress up" if you will, but I say make a statement. When you feel confident, you will answer those tough family questions with assurance and ease. Happy Thanksgiving!

First look: Forever 21 Peplum top, Gap red pant, Banana Republic bracelet, Target leopard shoes. Second look: Banana Republic necklace, Forever 21 skirt, TJ Maxx tights, Zara Shoes.
