It’s finally the first week of December. I can’t tell you how excited Team Charisma has been for it to become socially acceptable to celebrate the holiday season. To be honest, we’re guilty for listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving (way before). In fact, we gave in a few times during August. Whoops. We can’t help that Mariah Carey’s Christmas album is as timeless as it gets.

Most individuals aren’t into hearing Christmas music before Thanksgiving, but for the small pool of those who are, cheers to us! The special day only happens once a year, so my motto is: take advantage of the season and make Christmas last. I can assure you Team Charisma has done just that. Especially since we decorated our house for Christmas the first week of November. Let me add that it took us two trips to Target and Michael’s to find the right holiday décor.

We’re girls on a budget; so we decided to get $1 stockings and add our names with gold puff paint. We also purchased a barrel of blue, gold, and silver ornaments. The ornaments that were left over were placed in a vase as a centerpiece.

My favorite ornament we put on the tree is a nest with three bird eggs. It’s not only adorable, but also so meaningful to our home. Earlier this year, we had a nest in one of our hanging plants with five eggs. Overtime, we watched the baby birds hatch, grow up, and fly away. We miss them but love the memories!

There was no trouble picking out what exterior lights to purchase. I know the question is always: colored lights or white lights? We chose thick colored lights! Even though traditional white lights are classier, the colored bulbs reminded us of our own childhood. That being said, we chose the colorful route because it’s nice to have warm memories resurface.
