If The Shoe Fits

Dear readers,

Do you see this shoe? Well, it is not just ANY shoe. It is THE Valentino rockstud, patent leather pump that every woman drools over.

Or is it?...

Allow me to share my encounter with my "dream shoe," as I like to call it.

Once upon a time, there was a basic 23-year-old girl who was living paycheck to paycheck and admiring shoes on the World Wide Web, dreaming of winning the lottery and investing stock into Neiman Marcus. Now, this girl happened to stumble upon the most gorgeous heel in all of the land, but was immediately saddened when she saw that the price tag would require going without food, shelter, cable, wifi, gas and, ummm, basically any social festivities. She mourned the loss of ever owning such a beautiful shoe, but still took a screenshot to forever remind her of this true beauty.

Months went by while the girl consistently wore flats and revisited the saved photo on her iCloud, remembering the daydreams of stunning outfits brought to life by the fabulous glow of her Valentino heel. It was almost New Year’s Eve, which would require the purchase of a new pair of heels that were needed to match her outfit. She began to shop at the stores that offered heels within her budget, mainly consisting of Target, Rack Room Shoes and other discounted stores. After almost giving up on finding a heel she could call her true love, she stumbled into DSW where she would experience a feeling unlike any other.

Located on an aisle, she discovered that for every dream, there was an alternative, affordable reality. BCBG, oh how sweet the name. Such beauty, such grace, such…a VALENTINO KNOCKOFF. *Cue jaw drop to the floor* BCBG basically stole the shoe design (idk how that actually works) but the shoe looked unbelievably identical and was only $69.95!! She immediately grabbed her size, tried on the shoe and snapped at least five selfies in the store mirror. Not only would her New Year’s Eve outfit be a stunner, she would save $900 and forever feel like she had made the greatest purchase of all time.

Now, is there a moral to this story? Hmm, more than likely not. You see, the girl is actually myself (I know, shocking right?!) and I really just wanted to share this incredible bargain because no shoe is worth over $900 when you can find it for less than 1/10 of the price.
