When Laguna Beach first came out when I was a freshman in high school, I loved "LC" right off the bat. I loved that she was the "Girl Next Door" and so sweet. I followed her when she transitioned over to The Hills and stopped going by LC and started going by Lauren. She started to appear more as a mature go-getter and worked hard at her career in fashion. When she decided to no longer have the cameras follow her around and leave the show, I was devastated for a short while (how pathetic). That didn't stop her from venturing onto her next big thing: publishing eight books, having a high-end clothing line called Paper Crown and a line at Kohl's, not to mention an extremely successful and creative blog. Of course, nowadays, it's odd for celebrities to not only be an actor, but a New York Times best selling author (I still don't understand how Snooki got that title) with their own perfume and clothing lines. But even after all these years, Lauren Conrad has remained to be No. 1 on my favorites list. In fact, no one has come close to stealing her title as leading lady on my top tier (not even J Law, she's second!).
Here are my top reasons as to why Lauren is my leading lady:
1.) She's classy
One of my favorite quotes she always refers to is "Be the best version of yourself." All throughout her blog, she talks about how to present yourself in the best possible way. I've gotten more advice from her about the professional world, fashion and beauty than anywhere else. She's never been in the media for being out of control or making a fool out of herself.
2.) She's relatable & loyal
When I watched a clip of her during an interview, she was asked who her famous friends were. She answered, "Honestly, I don't really have famous friends. All of my friends are from high school." She's never seemed to be the type of person who is in it for the fame. She seems genuine, and the fact that she's had the same group of friends for years proves that. Despite the fact that both Laguna Beach and The Hills were most likely scripted, she's always given her friends the best advice.
3.) She's well rounded
With various books, fashion lines, and a successful blog, she still emphasizes the importance of family. She keeps her personal life very private, but doesn't make it less important than her success and fame. Not only do celebrities usually fail at making loved ones number one, but regular everyday individuals struggle as well.
Not to mention... I met her and it was fabulous!
And there you have it. These are my reasons why I love my favorite celeb. Who's your favorite celebrity and why?
