Finally, I can put my peacoat and overused, outdated UGG boots [that I swore I was going to throw away] to rest.

We get to kiss winter goodbye. No more chapped lips, Wednesday Addams skin tone, and runny nose. No longer do I have to peak outside my window when I wake up for work to see if I have to scrape the ice off my car windows. *CUE THE TRUMPETS* Tomorrow, spring will commence! That being said, I can’t wait to partake in more outdoor activities and events that Scenic City has to offer. Here are just a few that I can’t wait to spring into:

I’m no “Yogi,” but, if it’s yoga on the deck of the Hunter Museum with a gorgeous view, sign me up! One Saturday a month, you can enjoy outdoor yoga from 1:30 to 3 p.m. It’s encouraged to give a $5 donation to support Hunter Museum’s educational mission. For anyone looking to do yoga this Saturday, you’re in luck. Artful Yoga, for the month of March, happens this weekend. Remember to bring your own mat!

You know where I’ll be on Saturday, April 25th…at the opening weekend of the Chattanooga Market! Normally, the Market is held on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Since it’s the ceremonious kick-off weekend, the Market needs bothSaturday AND Sunday to celebrate. I’m not complaining! There is nothing better than strolling through the market on a Sunday afternoon, looking at all the locally grown produce, works of art from local artists and crafters, and, of course, indulging in one of the food truck choices.

Presented by Volkswagen and hosted by ArtsBuild, you can eat the most important meal of the day on Walnut Street Bridge on May 2 from 8 to 11 a.m. The family-friendly event will provide breakfast from local restaurants with various child-based activities. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased here. Proceeds benefit ArtBuild’s education programs in Hamilton County Schools.

I’ve promised myself I will try this…no matter what it takes. Me and the other lovely ladies of Charisma were so mad at ourselves for going a whole spring and summer last year without giving paddle boarding a shot. We were all talk and no paddle. Please keep an eye out for the three of us when you drive on Market Street Bridge because you WILL see us paddling away on the river [for 3 seconds until will fall in the water, quit, and proceed to Champy’s].

There’s my list of what I’m looking forward to this spring in Chattanooga. What about you?
