The birds are chirping and it feels like the sunlight is never ending. Ah, spring. You may already know how excited I am for spring in the Scenic City; longer days make me feel more optimistic and invigorated. My perspective on life is healthier when it’s sunny and warm outside. It’s no longer frigid, and you can plan outdoor activities with friends. Soon it will be time to walk around the Chattanooga Market and attend an Easter Sunday church service; meaning, it’s time to strut your stuff in a spring dress. Even if you don’t think you have a reason to wear one, every woman deserves to get dressed up to feel good and look beautiful! It’s time to celebrate the new season by parading the streets in your dress to impress!

Don’t be afraid to step outside the box when choosing your ideal spring dress. Everyone’s style is different, but that’s what makes fashion awesome. You may be more casual, eclectic, edgy, or girly. The most important rule of thumb is to find a dress that is YOU.

Here is what I look for in a spring dress…

It must be iconic.

For me, personally, I’ve always admired the iconic spring dress: bright, cheerful, spinnable (of course), and ladylike. It needs to be fun and wearable. What I mean by wearable is, I rarely (actually, never) will wear something if it’s uncomfortable. I am worse than most children when it comes to uncomfortable clothing.

It must be flattering.

I am the poster child for pear-shaped women. That being said, A-Line anything is my best friend. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term "A-line," it means the top half is fitted, but the material gradually widens from the hips to the hem of the dress (or skirt).

It must make me feel beautiful.

The dress I’m wearing in the photos is from Disney’s Cinderella, LC Lauren Conrad Collection at Kohl’s. When I slipped it on for the first time, I felt like Julie Andrews was going to knock on the dressing room door and ask for it back. I had to have it! When wearing it, I feel truly regal. The light blue color, delicate print, and sweet bow in the back give the most whimsical touch.

I must be able to wear dainty studs.

I’m not much of a jewelry person. It’s not that I don’t like jewelry; honestly, I just don’t think about it. I prefer dainty necklaces and fancy studs. Therefore, my LC Lauren Conrad Flower Stud earrings available at Kohl’s were most fitting for my outfit.
