Us ladies at Charisma Chatt have a confession: we are children at heart. We think that the age limit on coloring books should be limitless, and that there is no problem with watching reruns of Arthur every once in a while. What’s the big deal? There’s a time and place for everything; a time to act poised, and a time to embrace your inner child. What better time of year to embody your childhood than with Easter right around the corner? We are due for a little egg decorating!

I wanted to impress the Easter Bunny this year, so I knew my egg décor needed to be unique. I didn’t want to buy dye…I wanted to find a DIY. After some research, I fell in love with the idea of marbleized eggs. Camille Styles has a wonderful step-by-step marble Easter Egg DIY on Martha Stewart’s website.

What attracted me most to her DIY was that it involved minimal prep work. It’s simple and something you can easily do with your friends and family!

Here's what you'll need:

  • Your choice of nail polish colors

  • Medium-size Tupperware, filled half way with cold water

  • A stick to mix the colors (we didn’t have one, so we used a straw)

  • Eggs

  • Gloves (Our hands were covered in nail polish by the end!)

  • Paper towel *We used a blow dryer because we’re impatient people

Directions:

  • Fill your Tupperware with water

  • Pour some of each nail polish color in the water

  • The way you pour it will affect how the marble will appear

  • Dip the egg into the water and twirl into the nail polish

  • Set egg aside to dry

  • Scoop out nail polish from water surface between eggs

  • Repeat

Randi and I were so sad when we realized we used the entire carton of eggs because we wanted to keep going! It was not only fun, but also soothing! I tried it out after a long day of work and it was a stress reliever.

What’s your favorite way to decorate an Easter Egg?
