The Sun-Kissed Summer Look

Ah, I can already feel the breeze on my face. Summer is upon us, which means sun tans, trips to the beach (I hate being landlocked), sailboat rides, and Charisma's favorite past time: corn hole at Universal Joint (oh yes). But what I look forward to most is catching rays and gaining the vitamin D back that I was lacking all winter.
In case you haven't achieved a sun goddess look just yet (I know...I haven't even started), you can use makeup tricks that will make you look summer ready! Not only that, they compliment the sun when it shines on your face. Using bronzing powder, gold eyeshadow tones, and a bright, flirty lip will scream summer. But wait...you can't forget those gold hoops, though.
Here's how to score the perfect summer look and what I use:

Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream
Rimmel Sunshimmer Maxi Bronzer
CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion
Wet N Wild Fergie Vicious Varnish High Shine Lip Stain
Maybelline The Nudes Palette
Almay Liquid Liner

Highlight your eyes
This is important because it makes your eyes look fresh, awake, and bright. First, I brush my CC cream under my eyes, hiding any dark shadows and brightening my eyes. Then, on the inner lid and brow bone, I use the light shimmer shadow. It highlights and enhances my eye shape (almost like contouring for the eyes).

Bronze it up, baby
Since you're in a limbo phase where you haven't gotten a chance to tan yet because you've been working all week, bronzer is your best friend. Don't go too crazy. See how I'm fair skinned? I'm obviously not going to get dark bronzer. It's safe to go 2-3 shades darker than your actual skin. Make sure to bronze your neck and chest area too.
Think golden, girl (Cue theme song...)
Brush the light gold tone over your entire eyelid, leaving out the brow bone. Next, using the dark gold shadow, brush your outer lid and above the crease. Steer away from blending the dark gold onto the inner, mid, or outer lid areas. Overblending will hide the light gold hue.

Brown on bottom
Having brown eyes myself, I usually stay away from brown tones for fear of washing out my eyes. Brown shadow is usually for blue eyes and purple shadow is for brown. In this case, the [slightly] glitter brown shadow compliments the gold tones on the upper lid, giving off a warm, summery look.
To be honest, I don't care for eyeliner on the lower waterline. I think it can make eyes look smaller and throws off the whole look. Instead, I use shadow on the inner and lower lash line.

Finish with fuchsia
As you can tell by the makeup listed, I'm cheap. I don't like to spend a lot and have never had a problem finding makeup I like from a drugstore. The Wet N Wild lipgloss I used to tie my look together is summery and playful...perfect for a bold finish!
There you have it! My go-to summer beauty look. Do you have any summer beauty tricks you'd like to share?
