Well ladies, the first quarter of the year is over, and it's time to do a new years resolution check-in! Don't fret- it's okay if you haven't started all your goals just yet; but, if you haven't started any at all...you need to get on with it. If you need some motivation, see the past post on how to keep your resolutions.

What has worked most for me is having a framed copy of my resolutions sitting on my nightstand. There isn't a day where I'm not reminded of what I'm going to accomplish. So far, I have to say the one I've been most focused on is taking better care of my body.

During my early college years, I worked out a ton. I recognized my mindset for exercising wasn't right when I noticed how much I would mentally beat myself up if I ate something unhealthy. I would get anxiety and not be able to sleep at night. The mix of being fearful for my unhealthy motives and bruising my toe bone made me stop enjoying exercising. I quickly went to eating whatever I wanted. I loved feeling mentally better; but, over the years, my body took a toll and I noticed I wasn't toned anymore. I could tell that I was slowly gaining weight.

Now, years later after my initial unhealthy workout kick, I was finally motivated and ready to hop back on the workout groove and make fitness the start of my healthy lifestyle. Randi and I were introduced to Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide 12-week workout plan and it's changed our lives so far! We will go into more detail about that in a later post, so stay tuned!

Even though I've done well with working out, other resolutions have seemed to lag behind. The resolution I'm most eager to start is to read more often. This is a tough area for me, considering I've never been into reading. I didn't discover that I actually enjoyed reading until I found out my interest in non-fiction books. Even though that's what I prefer, I would still like to dabble in the fiction area and maybe convince myself otherwise.

So I've been honest about how well I'm doing- now it's time to hear for you! How have your resolutions been going? If you're feeling overwhelmed because you were anticipating to cross more off your list by now, break the list up and make a seasonal timeline for yourself. You may have just made too many commitments and either have to let go of some, or you aren't realizing you still have 8 months to turn your goals into a reality. If I can do it, you can do it - we're a team!
