I'm not even going to apologize for the title of this blog because I felt like a fairy while taking these pics last weekend! I've seen flower crowns being worn a lot lately by wedding parties, and I think they're absolutely adorable. I purchased mine a couple years ago when the trend was coming back to life from the 70's. I loved it when I bought it and would wear it all the time. It's been a while, however, since I brought it out to wear. Honestly, it's been sitting on my dresser, almost like a decoration, waiting for the day I'd try it on again. So Sunday was that day.

I purchased mine for a few dollars, but I thought about how fun it would be to make flower crowns as a craft with some gal pals. (DIY, anyone?) The thing about flower crowns is that they are an accessory but not one you can throw on with any outfit, like a necklace or bright lipstick for example. You almost have to build your entire outfit around them because of the bohemian vibe that they give off. So that's what I decided to do by wearing mine with this peasant-style, bohemian dress that I purchased from River City Apparel. The crown is the icing on the cake to this dress and, like I said, made me feel like a fairy.

If you think flower crowns are silly or you could never pull one off, perhaps try one with a boho-type dress or a top that is flowy and makes you feel hippy-esque. You don't have to be a bride to give this accessory a try!
