There is nothing better than fall festivals and activities. It's a time to have fun with friends over campfires, cider, hayrides and also a time for things to get spooky! It's the only time of year where I will pay for someone to scare me. I’ve locked down my top five festivals and things to do around Chattanooga this fall.
September 24 - October 31
Things can get a little corny here. The Enchanted MAiZE is perfect if you're looking for a hayride or you've got a hankering for homemade funnel cake. You won't pee your pants here in fear so that's at least good too, right?
September 26 & 27
Ah, the fair! The first time I ever milked a cow was at a fair. Being from New Jersey, this was a nostalgic moment for me. Anyway, this weekend you can enjoy the Hamilton County Fair as the official kickoff to the fall season. It's on both Saturday and Sunday; go once or go twice! But no promises on being able to milk a cow...
October 2 - 31
BOO! Are you scared? (How lame, I know.) Well, you will find yourself scared stiff here. It's outdoors with roaming monsters, bonfires, and a massive haunt that takes you through twisted woods and dark swamps. Oh my. Oh yes.
October 3
Did someone say wine? Because I'll take it. Wine Over Water is Tennessee's premier wine-tasting festival. You can sample wines from over 100 world wineries on the historic Walnut Street Bridge. Area restaurants will offer a variety of tasting plates for purchase. Enjoy wine from all corners of the globe! Just...don't fall in the water.
October 17 & 18
No better way to say auf wiedersehen to summer and guten tag to fall. Drink brews, embrace yourself in the Oktoberfest German traditions, shop, and listen to live music. Sounds like it's going to be off the schnitzel.
