It's the last day of 2015. Let's all just pause and think about that reality. I can't believe it! Although, I suppose I say that every year. It really does feel like time goes by quicker as I get older. I was recently with my grandparents on Christmas Eve who are almost 90 years old. I thought about how much life they have experienced and how much change they have seen throughout their lifetime. Sometimes I wonder what will be remembered from my generation when I am that age.

As I reflect on 2015, I can't help but feel a sense of gratitude. There has been so much horrible news around the world, and it's easy to forget just how blessed we truly are. Sure, I've experienced some lows this year, but nothing to be compared to those who have experienced tragedy and loss. God has blessed me and continued to supply all of my needs. This year I can honestly say that I've grown as a person, cultivated relationships, experienced love, gained self confidence and developed new passions. I've also learned from my mistakes, received forgiveness and grace when I did not deserve it.

Do I have goals or "resolutions" for 2016? You betcha. I keep a list of my New Year's resolutions printed out and framed on my bathroom counter. This way I have no choice but to read them every day of the year and, at the very least, think about them. Here are a few that I will be adding to my 2016 list:
Save $2,000. This doesn't sound like much, but when you're in your mid-20s and like to have fun with your friends while paying rent and numerous bills, saving money is quite challenging. I'm sticking to this amount because it is doable and realistic for me. Select an amount for yourself based on your budget!
Be a positive influence. This means taking a stand for what I believe in and saying "No" when it's not the majority. Sometimes, it may consist of offering encouragement when it's needed or being positive when no one else feels that way.
Practice a healthy lifestyle. I'm not a "gym rat" by any means of the imagination, but I do want to exercise more. Whether it's going for long walks, doing yoga, working out, I want to exercise more and eat healthier in 2016. I don't consider myself to be unhealthy, but I would prefer to eat more natural foods and treat my body the way it needs to be treated.
I hope you have a fabulous New Year's Eve and a wonderful start to 2016. What are some goals or resolutions you're setting for the new year?
